I’m currently sifting through over 600 shots from our trip, all the while learning how to use Adobe Lightroom. The whole process is moving much slower than usual, but I promise some photos soon. (And, I haven’t forgotten about the previous post on the holiday party I photographed. Those will post too.)
But, I move slowly not just because we received Lightroom for Christmas, but because a Wii is sitting downstairs in the den, and I swear it is constantly whispering my name. That damn thing is addicting, albeit tiring, but it doesn’t seem to affect Paul at all. He’s not big on gaming, so he laid on the couch as I dodged and punched the air, or pretended that I knew how to swing a golf club. Although, he does have a favorite game on the console – pool. Yeah, the game where you’ve got to be deliberate and insanely detailed? That should speak volumes about his mind.
So today, I’ve been ignoring the Wii, spending my time sorting and editing photos. What follows are some shots I edited that Paul took during our day in Grand Turk.
We signed up for an excursion (on my birthday), where you could “ocean swim on horseback.” I love horseback riding, but have never had the opportunity to ride along a beach, let alone *in the ocean*.
We took off, galloping through the waves. I wasn’t expecting that at all, and so all I could do was laugh. As you can see, there was no saddle, so my feet didn’t know what to do with themselves quite yet.
It was so much fun, I couldn’t stop laughing.
I have to say that the dolphin swim I had days prior was not as exciting and soul-fulfilling as a horse galloping you through warm waves on your birthday, all while your husband paid for the experience and chose to miss the best part, just to capture the moment for you.
And, this is one of two ponies that stuck around on our trail. The horse I was riding was the mama of one of them, so they especially hovered around me.
