Ringing in the New Year with Wii Bowling

3 Jan

Paul and I changed things up this year and spent New Year’s Eve with his parents. My mom had to work until 11pm, so my dad stopped by and had dinner with us at Paul’s grandma’s. His mom, Nancy, and his dad, “Big Paul” catered in some Olive Garden spaghetti (which turned out spa-nasty). We played a game of Scrabble and my dad departed for home.

Too bad for him, as we had brought our Wii that Paul’s parents gifted us for Christmas, thinking it would pass some time. Thinking we wouldn’t be there anywhere near midnight. Thinking we would play a little, pack up, and go home.

Well, we didn’t watch the ball drop, that’s for sure. We didn’t even shut the Wii off. We played until after midnight, even when Paul fell asleep around 9:30pm.

Paul’s parents loved Wii Bowling so much, they’re planning on buying their own console just for that game. Granted, they met at a bowling alley and would rent by the hour, just spending all day hurling their *personal* bowing balls at the pins.

Here, you can see that the women have a certain zen-like flow.

Big Paul (Paul’s dad) had a flow, but it would come very close to the screen. We kept reminding him to make sure the strap was on his wrist so as to possibly prevent a collision with the television.

I mean, do you see how close that is?

And, ohhh Paul – he didn’t even play bowling that night, so these shots are from the following night. His parents invited us over for roast in the afternoon and said if “we” wanted to bring the Wii, that would be fine.

Obviously, our friendly company is not quite their main goal.

As you can see, Paul has a certain… craziness to his form. He would move through so hard that his socks would pickup and slide the carpet.

I think it’s called being over-zealous.

Wii bowling rocks!!! I am pretty darn good at it too!
Great pics. Looks like you all had fun! I remember when we first got our Wii my mom and stepdad (and everyone else) use to come over and we would play for hours.
